If you’ve been paying attention to this guide on Microsoft Rewards, using them and whatnot, you might have tried to use these to get Game Pass , and rightly so. There’s even a second guide on how to get the subscription even cheaper , via auto redeem. All in all, great stuff here, when they are available.
The problem? Right now, they are unavailable. This is not an indication that they are gone permanently, however. There has been no indication from Microsoft that this is the case. None at all
So, what happened? Historically, Microsoft adds and removes redemption stuff from Microsoft Rewards all the time . In fact, over the past few months, Microsoft has added and taken away the Game Pass auto redeem at least 4 times. Removing this is not an indication that it is gone for good. Let’s look at what the most likely causes for removal are, shall we?
1: They’re adjusting the point cost
Since the monetary cost of Game Pass is going up, they are going to end up raising the POINT cost of these things, and are waiting until they’re ready to reveal these, all at once.
2: They’re adjusting the verbage (name)
Since Xbox Live Gold is no longer, they’re likely going to rename this, and add it back in to the system
3: They’re going to release longer subscriptions
Ok, THIS ONE’s a reach. We aren’t likely to ever see 6- or 12-month subscriptions, but it’d be nice, right?
Whatever the cause, there’s no need to jump into mass panic and hysteria. Microsoft does frequently remove things and place them back in in a few days/weeks. There is no indication that these are permanently gone. Anyone claiming others is spreading FUD and rumors and should simply be dismissed. Kick back, wait for them to re-appear. They always do.
Game on
